Texterity’s Branded iPad App for Entrepreneur, Adds to Total Mobility Program

(Southborough, MA) With its first iPad Magazine App in the App Store, leading digital publishing provider, Texterity (http://www.texterity.com) announces “Total Mobility” for publishers.

Entrepreneur Magazine is the first iPad-optimized app using Texterity’s branded app platform. The app, introduced last week, has shot to the top of the charts for free business apps in the iPad App Store.

Says Mark Tavarozzi, VP of Consumer Marketing for Entrepreneur Media, Inc., (http://www.entrepreneur.com/), “Embracing a mobile platform shows our audience and advertisers that we are paying attention to their needs. It’s critical that we be at the forefront of innovation and smart business practices. I’ve always felt that a responsible publisher has to adapt to the market and generate quality content across as many channels as possible. Now we have basically set the stage for the next generation of entrepreneurs.”

In keeping with this thinking, the Entrepreneur iPad app (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/entrepreneur-magazine/id374050129?mt=8) features a crisp, clear magazine-reading experience, a novel scrolling table of contents, and easy-to-read articles. Like all Texterity apps, it supports live feeds which turn the digital edition into a timely, one-stop destination and extend shelf-life between issues. While producing independent apps can be cost-prohibitive for individual publishers, Texterity uses their scalable technology and existing files to create efficiencies.

“Early results are in,” says Texterity VP of Sales and Marketing, Wendy Zingher. “Flurry tracking data confirms what we suspect – mobile app readers are spending more time with their app editions and eagerly await each new arrival. For example, we’ve learned that the Entrepreneur users are spending on average 33 minutes per session with their app, and coming back more than 3 times per month. So, we are seeing 100 minutes of engagement per user with the app over the last month. That’s tremendous validation of the content and its delivery platform. We’ve seen the same pattern on our iPhone apps, and expect it to grow with the iPad’s more expansive format. “

What’s on the horizon? Zingher sees more navigational features, more publishers adding video, audio, and interactive elements as they consider iPad delivery when they develop content. She anticipates even more engagement as readers make use of features such as commenting on articles and “between the issues” updates.
